Behind

Just behind the head of the small crowd, the geriatric embryos whispered as loudly as possible. “Teeheehee, look how quiet we are!” they chittered to each other, as their whole part of the group listened but did not speak.

They travelled in the middle of the sidewalk - many were nearly stationary in their mobility devices, others were straining to move inch by inch. They were local tourists, you might say they were staycationing, as they were all residents of Markham who had come to visit the exotic locale at their doorstep. Not Down Under, but downtown, not New York but North York. They slowly scrambled out of the subway and the CN Tower was in their sights, at least, the tower was in the sights of those who still had good eyes.
